Context/Scope: Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) is passionate about creating value for Diageo by driving exceptional business performance through the design and delivery of analytical solutions, integrated processes, systems and data, and managing total costs through excellence in service delivery.
The role of the Data & Information Governance team is to increase awareness of the quality of data and information within Diageo and to actively improve it to increase business performance.
This is achieved through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the data and information architecture & design; governance of said design and measurement of data and information quality to identify process and performance improvements, and meet its regulatory requirements with regards to data and information.
The role of the Data Quality Manager is to manage data KPIs and operational reporting; drive process improvement; align peers in the groups of governance, service management and IS BP Teams; and manage the performance and service level of BPO partners
Dimensions:
a. Financial
The role will not have direct budget responsibility but will need to be financially aware of their responsibilities and remain budget conscious and compliant, seeking simplifications and opportunities to increase capacity. It will also support on preparing annual budget plans and yearly expenditure
b. Market/Role Complexity Global. Diageos data and information environment spans all geographies and functions including touch points with business partners and Joint Ventures. This role has Global responsibility spanning a number of Global Applications, within the context of allocated data domain of consumer, customer, vendor, product, supply, finance, people and systems
The role will interface with governance directors, process owners, business stakeholders and service delivery teams (both internal and external). These relationships will encompass people based in a variety of geographies, multiple cultures, languages and time zones
c. Leadership Responsibilities Senior Stakeholder engagement of GDBS LT, GDBS Directors and Business directors; influencing as necessary.
Engagement across all processes, markets and vendors. External stakeholder engagement as appropriate.
The role requires profound data and information management skills and deep functional skills in data & information management and maintenance principles and capabilities.
Strong people management skills are required to motivate and control a team across multiple geographies.
The ability to lead and communicate/ influence effectively across many different cultures including external company cultures and time zones
Identify continuous improvement initiatives and provide support and input to improvement projects
Purpose of Role The purpose of this role is to manage the quality environment within allocated domain, ensuring quality measurement, reporting and improvement is robust to meet business requirements
Top Accountabilities Own the DQ schedules and reporting execution for Data domain
Provide the metrics for and running monthly or weekly stakeholder engagement
Ensuring that data and information quality issues are managed and resolved with identified data owners
Critical data fields are fully documented in terms of how they relate to business KPIs or controls, and that business rules are owners are in place
Daily root cause analysis of DQ errors bit unrealistic weekly
Awareness creation to business partners on DQ for domain
Manage Data Quality Rules through lifecycle
Sign-off project driven DQ rules sign off by Gov Mgrs, spec, build and test = QM
Execute regular Maintenance in backend database
Project support for existing DQ rules clarify this = impact analysis, actions to ensure DQ brules work, extended as required
Execution of End to End Process strategy as set by the Tower Lead
Data cleansing and enrichment DQ managers dont tend to execute cleansing (data maint teams do that)
Develop preventing measures / improvement actions, develop controls and data standards
PLAN (was Supply) (system coverage mainly SAP APO; will expand with other SAP APO modules e.g. SAP PPDS Production Planning & Details Scheduling)
Qualifications and Experience Required
Degree level education, preferably with minimum of 8 years Data Management/related discipline experience, either within Diageo or another consumer goods company (or equivalent in consultancy).
Strong understanding of Business definition of data and data objects within the context of both logical and physical data models.
PLAN / Supply - Strong understanding of Production Planning processes, and of Production Planning systems (such as SAP APO)
Business design of KPIs and reporting mechanisms.
Performed data and information reconciliation within SAP
Developed/run governance processes for managing data and data hierarchies.
Data Lead on medium sized project or Data Analyst on large SBM Project
Excellent understanding of data management disciplines and their business benefits.
Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
Capability to analyse data using data quality/management tools, particularly Data Quality checks in database environment.
A rounded business/technical data hybrid, with the emphasis on understanding and presenting data in a business context.
Data analytical knowledge is preferable
Strong SAP background is must
Highly energetic
Metric and quality management
SixSigma certification is preferable
Strong understanding of Sales Execution processes, and of Sales Force Execution system (such as Salesforce)
